ECHO ROOM – ATLANTA’S NEW JAZZ KISSA
Listening bars, or Jazz Kissa, first emerged in Japan during the 1950s, offering a sanctuary for audiophiles to immerse themselves in the art of deep listening. These intimate venues were defined by their focus on high-quality sound systems, carefully curated record collections, and an atmosphere that encouraged the mindful appreciation of rare and eclectic vinyl. At the heart of Jazz Kissa was a reverence for music, creating a space where conversation softened, and the richness of analog sound became the true centerpiece.
“The jazz kissa idea represents a very unique relationship between Japan and the US – a moment in history when African-Americans are coming on tour to Japan and being treated like gods, and going home to sleep in segregated hotels and ride different buses.” – Rob Garratt
Echo Room draws inspiration from this tradition, bringing the magic of Jazz Kissa to Atlanta, where vinyl enthusiasts can connect over timeless grooves. Our sound system is comprised of vintage studio & top-tier audio equipment from the collections of hi-fi enthusiasts all over the Atlanta Metropolitan area.
Echo Room is for the community, by the community.
